    What is Mechanical Engineering ?

    Introduction to Mechanical Engineering

    Mechanical Guruje

Mechanical Engineering is the one of the Branch of Engineering.

In this Branch we studied about Design of mechanical components, Construction of mechanical components, also about thermal components, parts of Automobile, Domestic Mechanical Components, Hydraulic Mechanical Component.
It also combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering branches. It includes Mechanics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Material Science, Structural Science, Fluid Mechanics and more. There is also uses mechanical engineering in Robotics, Aeronautical Engineering and others.

    Education :

There is many types of courses are available in Mechanical Engineering.

    • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Through Polytechnic) - It is a three Year Diploma Course in Mechanical Engineering which is equivalent for Intermediate.

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering - It is a 4 Year degree Course which is equivalent for Graduation. Its popularly known as B.Tech.

    • Master in Mechanical Engineering  - It is a Post Graduate Course in Mechanical Engineering. It is popularly known as M.Tech

    Scope of Mechanical Engineering :

There is a large scope in government as well as private sector.
    • Aerospace industry- In aerospace industry mechanical engineers have scope for  resarch, design, manufacture, operate and maintain the aircrafts.
    • Automotive industry- In automotive industry mechanical engineers have scope for  designing, manufacturing, distributes and perform marketing of motor vehicles.
    • Chemical industry- In chemical industry, they covers the oil companies, chemical manufactures and the business to build new chemical plants or to develop new process technologies.
    • Construction industry- In this field of industry the role of mechanical engineer is to design and build the infrastructure and buildings and its services like heating and ventilation.
    • Defence industry- in defence industry, they provide the equipments and provide support and services to the armed forces.
    • Electronics industry- In this field of industry, the role of mechanical engineers is to design and manufacture components and complete equipments for sectors from automotive and the military.
    • Marine industry- In this field of industry, the role of mechanical engineer is to develop the vessels and help to operate them.
    • Material and metal industry- In this field of industry, mechanical engineer performs the activities which include developing new material and manufacturing components or end products.
    • Rail industry- In rail industry, the role of mechanical engineer is to design, construct, manage and maintain the rail system component from train and tracks to electrical power system and train control system.
    • Utilites industry- In this field of industry, they help to supply the power, water, waste material and telecom.
